Focusing on Positive Things will help you with your Depression

We should focus on positive things because the Bible tells us too. If you continue to focus on negative things and the past, then your mind will never be open to hope, faith and the positive things that could happen in your life. Depression for single parents is quite common. Whether one becomes a single parent because of a bad relationship, by divorce, by adoption, you become a widow or by circumstance, depression can sneak up on you. Although we know that children are a blessing from the Lord, sometimes it can be a struggle to keep up with the day to day routine of managing the care and providing for one or more children. For every area in which you may consider to be negative, think about changing your frame of mind to make it a positive experience.

Well, the Bible can address this question. Philippians 4:8 tells us to: “Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. Verse 9 tells us that if you do the things that you have learned and heard, the things that were talked about in Philippians 4, then the God of peace shall be with you. Therefore, don’t continue to be depressed, focus on positive things. You will see a change in your life and will no longer feel like a “Depressed Single Parent”.
